SUMMARY: The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District
Board of Directors has requested written comment from the governing bodies of
the land use jurisdictions on proposed yield targets that would satisfy current
replacement and estimated future water needs of the
To
assist the jurisdictions and facilitate their respective responses, the
District’s Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) and Technical Advisory Committee
(TAC) will receive District staff PowerPoint presentations on the proposed
yield targets at the joint meeting on January 9, 2007. A copy of the staff report presented to the
Board on November 20, 2006 is included as Attachment 2-A, and will be referred
to during the presentation. Also attached is a November 30, 2006 letter
formally transmitting this staff report to the Airport District General
Manager. Identical letters were sent to
the County Administrative Officer, and to each of the City Managers of the six
RECOMMENDATION: Following the presentation and response to questions, the PAC and TAC should share the information with their respective governing bodies, in order to assist in preparing and submitting each jurisdiction’s formal response to the District Board by March 15, 2007.
